The Janayen Projects
Janayen's
current projects are in Dubai (UAE) , currently the centre of significant
construction activity, with over 16% of the world's cranes in use.
Projects underway have another 10-15 year construction horizons
and considerable additional workers and staff will be required.
Properly built and operated facilities are in short supply with
ever increasing demands on the horizon.
The Dubai Municipality and the UAE Government are taking active
steps to enforce strict regulations protecting worker rights and
accommodation standards, with over 150 substandard 'labor camps'
or worker housing areas shut down in the first few months of 2007.
Siraj Capital Lt identified a market need over 12 months ago and
commenced planning and development for a pilot facility to be constructed
in a central location in Dubai. Key factors taken into account included:
Location - transit time for workers to and from construction
sites must be under 30 minutes.
Quality - employers and municipality authorities are requiring
facilities to be built to comply with new regulations, with additional
pressure coming from newly introduced UAE labor unions.
Currently Janayen is involved in 5 Worker accommodation camps in
the UAE.
